Our residents have a social life that’s the envy of many of their own children!

Our lifestyle program has been carefully designed to give residents plenty of opportunities to be socially active with old and new friends, family and the local community. Whether it be scenic day trips on the resident’s bus, guest speakers, fundraising for local charities, arts and hobbies, sports, or just having a coffee with the staff, there’s something to choose from every day.

Our lifestyle program helps residents to continue to follow their interests and hobbies, find new interests and hobbies and instil a sense of connection to each other, to staff and to the local community.

Some of our activities on offer include:

Weekly Outings

Each week the CraigCare bus takes residents on outings to destinations such as a spot of lunch at the beach or river, the local library, Ascot racetrack and to local sports and clubs. We also visit the local shopping centre so you can still enjoy the freedom of doing your own shopping.

Hobbies and Activities

Organised activities include ballrooomfit, card and board games, men’s group, arts and crafts, knitting club, exercise classes, walking groups in the local parks, gardening, cooking lessons, bingo, both the latest and classic movies in our onsite cinema, bowls, mini golf, a café social group and worship groups.

The café at out CraigCare Ascot Waters community is a social hub for all our residents and their visiting families and friends.

Visiting Pets

There are pets that visit our residents on a regular basis. Family pets are also welcome to visit.

Local Community Partnerships

A key aspect of CraigCare Ascot Waters home is its focus on keeping residents connected to all the activities and events on offer throughout the City of Belmont. CraigCare shares the same vision as the City of Belmont and that’s to recognise the unique contribution our older Western Australians make to our community. It is important to ensure our community is inclusive and there are many and varied opportunities for our residents to continue to maintain a great quality of life with strong social connections, purpose and value. Our Home Manager Liz Ennis is a member on the City of Belmont’s Ageing in Place Committee to help ensure this vision is implemented. We are also forming partnerships with the Ascot Racetrack, local primary school and bowls club, for example.

At CraigCare, you choose how you want to spend your days. Our Lifestyle Team are there to support you, whatever your needs and plans.

If you would like a copy of this month’s lifestyle activities please email lizennis@craigcare.com.au and we will send you a copy.
